Get Your Tire Gluing Right – Koswork Tire Gluing Products
Tire gluing might not be the most glamorous part of RC racing, but it’s one of the most critical. A tire that peels mid-race doesn’t just cost you the result — it can damage your car and wreck someone else’s race too. Whether you’re gluing up a set of 1/10 touring tires the night before a club race or prepping a full set of 1/8 buggy tires for a big event, getting the process right matters. Koswork makes every part of that process easier.
Start with the Right Glue

Koswork offers two tire glue options. The KOS50101 Tire Glue 20g is the standard choice — thin viscosity, fast cure, and a clear finish that bonds tightly with tire rubber. It comes with a needle-inserted pin cap that keeps the bottle sealed and prevents leaks between sessions, plus two glue tips ready to use out of the box. If you need a bit more working time or want a stronger bond, the KOS50106 Tire Glue (Medium) 20g is the answer. Same quality formula and same smart cap design, but medium viscosity gives you slightly longer open time and delivers a higher final strength compared to KOS50101. Both are made in Taiwan and trusted by racers across the paddock.

Control Where the Glue Goes

The tip you use makes a bigger difference than most people realize. The standard KOS50102 Tire Glue Tips are 7cm flexible nozzles that fit most popular glue bottles and give you solid control over glue flow — good for standard tire gluing work. When you need to get into tight gaps or apply glue with more precision, the KOS50104-0.4 Ultra Fine Tips at 0.4mm OD (0.2mm ID) are the tool for the job. For tire gluing specifically, the KOS50104-0.6 Tire Glue Tips at 0.6mm OD (0.4mm ID) hit the sweet spot — fine enough for clean application, open enough to let the glue flow smoothly along the tire bead. All three sizes fit most popular glue bottles with a 4.2mm connection diameter.

Keep the Tire in Place While It Cures

Once the glue is applied, you need to hold the tire firmly against the wheel rim while it sets. That’s exactly what the KOS14605 UFO High Strength Silicone Tire Glue Bands are designed for. Made from high-elasticity silicone, these bands wrap tightly around 1/10 buggy, 1/10 SCT, 1/8 buggy, and 1/8 truggy tires (inner diameter around 55mm) and hold the bead pressed against the rim while the glue cures. If you’re running 1/10 touring cars or sedans, the KOS14607 UFO Silicone Bands are the right fit. Both are available in Blue, Black, Red, and White — four bands per set.

For 1/8 Buggy: Use a Jig

If you’re gluing 1/8 buggy tires regularly, the KOS13016 1/8 Buggy Tire Gluing Jig is worth having in your pit bag. Made from hard, high-strength plastic, it holds the tire mounted on the wheel in exactly the right position while you apply glue along the sidewall. The side wall design improves glue penetration into the bead, giving you a more consistent bond every time — not just on race day, but every gluing session. Small, lightweight, and easy to carry, it comes with a hard paper box and spare hook clips (KOS13016-3) are available separately.
